In 2024 the time has finally come: NANA released in spring his eagerly awaited new album. But this work is more than just a collection of songs. It is a testament to overcoming and perseverance amid the Covid pandemic. Together with talented Ghanaian artist and producer Samuel G, the album reflects diverse influences and experiences. From introspective lyrics to stirring Afro beats and melodies, NANA leads his listeners on a journey of rhythm and emotion. After his severe coronavirus illness, he was transformed not only physically but also mentally. 20 kilos lighter and with a new perspective on life, he began to transform his experiences into music.
The song “Raise”, which can be found on his new album, emerged from these turbulent and traumatic times. A powerful track that reflects the highs and lows of life. The album is named after his beloved daughter Aaliyah. Another notable song on the album is “Young Black Man”, a hymn to his son Jordan and at
the same time a message of motivation for all young people, regardless of their gender and cultural background. NANA wants to share his message of strength and hope, no matter the color of skin. With “Only You” NANA shows a new facet of his creativity. This song, which he wrote for his new
girlfriend Anny, marks a musical change as you can even hear him singing here, a completely new territory for the established rapper.
The rapper has turned the darkness of the pandemic into light and inspiration, and his new album is not only a musical journey but also a symbol of resilience and hope in difficult times.
